SQUAW VALLEY AND ALPINE MEADOWS
Squaw Valley, also know as Olympic Valley, is home to Squaw Valley USA, the world class ski resort that hosted the 1960 Olympics. With 4,000 acres of ski terrain, Squaw Valley offers skiing for a wide range of skill levels, but is probably best know for its many expert runs that are unparalleled by any other resort in the area.
Now considered a destination resort, Squaw Valley offers a variety of activities including skiing, golf, horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, swimming, ice skating, shopping, and restaurants and bars.
This beautiful valley is surrounded by dramatic mountain peaks and ridges. With a wide array of homes, condominium and timeshare properties to chose from, there is something for everyone. Whether you are looking for a luxury home, a ski cabin, or a condominium in a convenient location, there are properties throughout the valley that offer different amenities, views, property sizes and price ranges.
This beautiful and peaceful valley is home to the Alpine Meadows Ski Resort. With 2,400 acres of ski terrain Alpine Meadows offers plenty of room for skiers of all ability levels. Many people find it a bit more family oriented and easier to navigate.
Alpine Meadows offers mostly single family homes, although you can find some condominiums at both the entrance and the very end of the valley. There are several different neighborhoods within the valley which offer a variety of home styles, sizes, views, and prices.
Although Alpine Meadows has skiing, hiking and some swimming ponds, without the golf, shopping and large variety of restaurants and bars you find in Squaw Valley, it would not be considered a destination resort. Many people find this quiet valley to be a perfect place to live or vacation.
